This review will also be posted for the matching harness. Haven’t installed yet, but it looks like I went with the right relay and harness. I browsed for a good while (way longer than I should have for a silly relay) and I definitely could have gone for a cheaper version and been alright. However this relay is intended to switch power for an accessory block on my motorcycle so I wanted something reliable. To start out, I will only be installing heated grips but eventually may add more items. This relay is solid. Way better than your average auto relay, and it comes from a quality name. The harness is equally impressive. 12 awg for the load carrying wires and it looks like 16/18 for the others. Pretty good length as well, which seemed to be a common complaint from the cheaper items. The relay and harness are also weatherproofed, which isn’t required but is definitely a nice touch. Very solid connections – I could’ve gone much cheaper and bought an average relay and used spade terminals instead of a harness vs. the $30 I spent for this setup – but I’m happy I went for the better relay.

Great waterproof relay solution for a boat. I usually try and use the much cheaper relays in order to be efficient, however i needed a watertight/waterproof connection for an exposed relay. This worked great in combination with the waterproof connector. Yes it is $20 or so, but you will have piece of mind and safety. Make sure you look at the sizing of the connectors you are buying (ie mini vs regular etc).

This is an excellent relay. The pin out is printed on what I consider to be the front of the relay, so you know what pin goes to what wire in your harness. Get the Hella H84709001 harness to go with it. The only thing is to make sure you follow the relay pin out, vs the color code of the harness. That harness has the ground and the switch wires swapped. 85 is ground 86 is switch 30 is positive to 12v battery, 87 and 87a go to the positive leads of what you’re powering, it just depends on what you’re powering as to what 87 to use. I used this for a light bar on my 4wheeler, so I used the 87a to wire the light since it’s 12v accessory switched. I’m not an electrician, so when this worked the first go, I got pretty excited.

Great relay for any 12v circuit. Bought a couple of these for my Yamaha Rhino side by side. The previous owner had made a rat’s nest of wiring and so I used these to help clean up what was connected to what and where. I would recommend these if you’re adding any after market electronics to make sure to insulate your system from problems.

Have a bunch of these, for many years. They also come on a lot of equipment I work on. Best way to go.
