Very reliable…I thought the whole thing was a big joke on me with those prices, but it came and it was the price they posted

This is an unmarked thermostat in a Stant box. Is it a Stant? Will it last as long as a Stant? How easy is it to get a bunch of Stant boxes and slip in cheapo thermostats? Minus one star for nothing stamped on the thermostat. Comes with the gasket pictured, and looks exactly like the item. No markings are on the thermostat regarding temperature either. No jiggle valve. The box says made in Mexico. This replaces an old stock eighteen (18) year old thermostat. It was pretty much operating wide open as the stock springs were heat cycled to death. I have much better cold driveability and an increase of at least four miles per gallon.

Installed on 98 Z71 with 5.7 vortec. Truck always ran at 160 before and I wanted it to run hotter so it would consume fuel better (hopefully). Dropped new stat in and topped off fluids. Started up and right when gauge hit 200 it dropped back down. It’s right on the money I’m happy with it.

I put this thermostat in my 1997 Buick Century Limited edition and it seems to be working fine. Quality materials used, so I would definitely recommend it. You also might want to invest in the thermostat wrench for this particular vehicle because the placement of one of the bolts is designed to give you a headache because Buick probably wants you to take the vehicle to the dealership for repair to price gouge you.

This is a replacement for a cheap store brand from Autozone. In my defense, it was all I could get on a Sunday evening, but the damn thing stuck closed and failed within weeks, over heating and over pressurizing my cooling system. Mind you, I only use Prestone with distilled water, this was not a dirty system, clean as it gets. Still failed. Stick with Stant!

Had no complaints from my very impatient mechanic and I’ve had no issues since the installation of it in my 99 Jimmy GMC
