I bought these for my 2011 Nissan Titan after the hood fell down on my wife’s head. I had done the same thing to me several times but once it happened to her, the ballgame changed. I attempted to change these one at a time and became very frustrated. The new struts were approximately 0.25” longer than the old ones. Maybe in my younger years I could have slightly compressed one of these and held it there to fit it on, but no longer. I spent 15 minutes attempting this. I took a pause to contemplate the situation. Then I spotted the solution. There was plenty of room for the hood to go up further if I removed the other strut. My wife held the hood while I popped off the other strut. The hood isn’t super light but she was able to easily hold it up while I snapped on the new struts. I believe these are stronger than the originals. If I open the hood half way up, it springs up the rest of the way on its own. The struts have only been installed about a month but so far there is no discernible degradation of operation. Oil level checks are no longer a risky proposition.

Work great and super easy install!

These lift supports were a perfect fit for my 2005 Nissan Titan truck. They were super easy to install – only took about 5 minutes to swap out. Removing the old ones was more difficult than putting the new ones in. I would recommend a rubber mallet or hammer to remove the old struts, and help you set the new ones when you have them lined up. The best part is my hood stays all the way up and doesn’t sag on me anymore!

Difference between the old ones and the these was amazing. I couldn’t bulge them by hand, they work marvelously when installed. Speaking of which, they were way easier to install than I imagined. You don’t need to remove the clip, just put a small flathead under and they easily slip on. Great!
