   I was very concerned about the performance of a Li ion charger because that kind of battery demands that a level of charge be maintained or the battery (which is expensive) might require replacement. I purchased my Cayenne with the plan of keeping the battery on a charger for an extended period of time. I had originally purchased the appropriate item from the dealer, but discovered that the unit did not have a memory function; with a power outage the unit would be disconnected from its program and would require someone to manually reset it. The CTEK us lithium has proven to me that it establishes the program when you plug it in, AND reinitiates its function after a power outage. The company supplies terrific customer support. Now I own a charger for Li ion and batteries and another CTEK model for my AGM battery. Now I have more peace of mind when i leave the car undriven for prolonged periods.

   I like that the charger has a float mode that’s safe for LiFe batteries. Charging curve seems to be exactly what it says in the manual. I don’t like the non-removable power cord, I’d rather use a NEMA standard cord so it’s smaller to store. I was not happy to learn that it will not wake up the BMS on my largest battery after a low voltage disconnect. A $20 2A charger did it just fine. I’m going to buy a dumber 5A charger that will work when I need it.

   The lithium Ion battery in my Beta 500RR-s, battery and on the frame if the bike had a warning labels that said do not charge. It was a throw away according to Beta, but this charger brought the battery back to life. It hasn’t needed to be re-charged after the initial re-charge thanks to this charger.

   I have a 2019 Cayenne with a Lithium battery. This CTEK tender, works just like the Porsche branded one (also made by CTEK), but $100 less.

   I bought this on my automobile dealer’s recommendation. My SUV has a lithium battery instead of the traditional lead acid. In some ways that’s great tech, smaller, less weight. However, you can’t allow lithium batteries to discharge too low or the battery is toast. So most, if not all, cars with lithium batteries have Under Voltage Protection (UVP). So when the voltage reaches a level specified by the manufacturer, the battery shuts off power to the vehicle. This means you can’t even charge the battery. To reset the UVP most lithium chargers have a reset for the UVP battery circuit. In the case of this charger you press the Reset button for 10 seconds. As I found out to my regret, this does not work for my auto, a 2021 Porsche Cayenne. I do have a Lithium battery booster that has a UVP reset that does work. Bottomline, I’d find out if the UVP reset works for your car before buying it. Not sure how to check it; you don’t want to discharge your battery to find out. Maybe CTEK can tell you.

   The battery I have has a re-start feature . So you have to hold down the reset button for 10 seconds on the charger to bypass that feature. You have to do this before the battery is connected to the charger. If you do it while the battery is connected to the charger the 7 green light won’t be lit up and the charger will be stuck on stage 2. I have not found a fox for this but I will try
