I changed the spark plus and this wire set in my 1995 Miata and noticed immediate improvements in engine firing. The set appears to be high quality and number marking on each wire helped. I still have to change valve cover gasket as I found oil in plug 3 and 4.

Fits way better than what was on the car when I got it. Helped solve a minor misfire on hot start.

RECTIFIED MISFIRING AT LOW RPM

NGK wires are the best OE replacements for NA6/NA8 Miata’s. Don’t waste your money on the cheap ones.

1997 Mazda Miata with new Denso spark plugs. Installed very nice new NGK spark plug wires. Replacing old NGK wires. Old wires were great, no problems. New wires install easily and seem to attach to the spark plugs properly. BUT when the car is driven and the engine warms up, some of the wires unseat themselves (pop off) from the plugs. First trip driving, one wire unseated. Second time driving, two wires unseated. Each occurrence set off P300 on the check engine fault code – “Engine Misfiring”. Really frustrating because we’re using time and fuel attempting to reset the check engine light and each time, the fault code is being caused by the new wires. Wire ends may be slightly too short, or the spark plug clip is not strong enough. Can’t tell. They just won’t work. Warranty return.

This spark plug wires are amazing! easy to install and are even numbed to tell you where they go. So installing is super easy and them being blue adds abit of style to the engine bay.

Having had three Mazda miatas. These wires withstand the temperatures and cycles that others cannot. Regardless, I strongly suggest replacing them every few years for every fourth oil change.

22 years down the road & these NGK Blues are the only wires I’ll slap on the ’97 Miata.
