Dipsticks feature a positive lock to keep dipstick in place and seal tight to prevent fluid leaks while sealing out moisture and debris. Steel case fill tubes have a gold finish, include a welded-on mounting tab and are fitted with a rubber grommet type seal which reduces the risk of leaks common with traditional o-ring seals. Locking dipstick tubes are required on 10. 99 and faster drag cars.

I ordered the Chevy TH350 one for my 350/TH350 71 Camaro and this one fit absolutely perfect. I could not get 2 other chrome ones to fit properly ,clamp to transmission properly, or seal properly but this one was amazing. It cleared the AC box and isn’t too high. Clears the transmission and bolts right to the 1 o clock trans cover bolt. I love the newer hat seal. I put some silicone grease on it and it slipped right in the trans with the correct resistance. I could not get the o ring types to seal correctly. i tried 2 different o rings and they were either too tight or too loose. I don’t normally rave about this stuff but after hours of fighting with2 other ones this dropped right in . I would make sure the one you pick is correct for your app. They are different. Also this has a goldish finish . It’s a dull light gold .Not too shiny or bright. I think it fits right in with my engine patina.Yes, It is a little expensive but after I got it and it dropped right in ,I guess it was worth it.

Everyone posting that the bracket is in the wrong position is trying to bolt it to the 3 o’clock position on the bellhousing. I did too, at first. It goes in the 1 o’clock position slightly to the passenger side of the distributor. If you have minimal firewall clearance like I do in my 1971 Nova, it’s hard to get to the bellhousing bolt. You will have to remove the header for easier access. It’s a real pain to try and get the bolt back in but the bracket lines up perfectly. I had to use a rubber hose to fish it in the hole from underneath. After the threads are started, you can reach it with a long handled 9/16” wrench.

This dipstick has the right kind of end on it to properly fit a small block Chevy engine and not leak. Plus, it has the locking tab on top. The only adjustment I had to make was to grind off the tab that it was supposed to bolt to the bell housing. I just didn’t have the room for this tab. Other than that, everything fit perfect and works perfect. It is a quality dipstick and the price is right.

Overall its a nice locking dipstick. It will not…WILL NOT….fit an LS / 4l80 combo. You can see in the picture how I cut the bracket off and welded it back on in another position to utilize one of the bolts to the head. I’m overall happy with it though.

The media could not be loaded. Bracket welded in the wrong place for my application and the top part of the tube could be bent back just slightly. Hard to fully insert the dip stick. Take a good push. Almost touches the back of the right head. May be for gen1 small block.

Had to cut it down to fit my hot rod, but works great.

It was a bit tricky to get it fully seated but it fits my 2002 trans am with a th400. Looks like it came factory. I would definitely recommend it to anyone with the same set-up.
