What I received was an switch with 1/8″ threads on the base and the adapters. What is pictured is what I wanted, a switch switch with 1/8 NPT threads. There is a huge difference in the two. The part # on the packaging matches this listing. So the pictures used for this item are clearly misleading, especially if someone is wanting something very specific. I am disappointed with what I received. I would not have spent my money on this if accurate pictures would have been used.

The description says that the switch closes at 180 and opens back up at 165. The switch I received didn’t close until 200 then it opened back up at 180. I was expecting the fan to come on at 180 and turn off at 165. I’m about 20 degrees off despite the description of the part.

Wanted name brand reliable switch for backup generator system. Did not realize it was full current rated. Should last forever in the relay based system or allow that to be bypassed if relay fails.

The switch itself sits on a small stud. The stud is smaller than 1/4 20. This stud threads into either size solid plug. The benefit of this is that the plug seals off the coolant port and there is no joint to leak at the switch. The downside is the stud on the switch on is not in contact with coolant. This will cause a thermal delay and a possible low coolant temp reading.Another con of the small stud is its size. The stud is like a toothpick holding a cocktail meatball, just enough to get the job done. The switch would be best suited to an application where you’d change the switch without draining coolant.(low in the cooling system for example)This switch would also work in a smaller plug or installation area if it were drilled and tapped to accept the switch. This opens up a multitude of installation possibilities. You are getting a temp switchYou are getting 2 plugs drilled and tapped to accept the temp switch.
