The Odyssey packs more lead into a rugged case than any competitors I’ve seen. Side-by-side comparison with the Optima design illustrates the extra space the Odyssey utilizes to increase available amps. After several renditions of the Spiral Cell batts short-life cycle, I went for the $$ and threw down some serious money on this battery. Very impressed, rated with high amp hrs, very heavy due to the lead mass, in a well-made package. I haven’t had it installed in my FJ for long, though, and will keep an eye on the longevity using our Engel refridg when we camp.

Amazon is the best, and this battery and manufacturer is the best. This battery is a stout product, around 80 lbs … so you need to have a strong arm and back to tote this around if you use it like me in a small aluminum boat and power a Minn Kota 55 ft-lb motor.5 year warranty. Full replacement at no cost with no hassle. Unbeatable.Battery received over 3 years ago. Kept on a Genius battery tender in the winters, and in summers during usage. It stopped holding a deep cycle charge to my satisfaction for long fishing trips in the high country of Colorado. So, instead of getting a 5-6 hour trolling session with enough juice to get you back to the jeep … it started deteriorating to only 3-4 hours of usage and limping back to shore.I called Amazon. Explained the issue, and 3 days later in time for my next fishing trip – this bad boy arrived on my doorstep courtesy of UPS.

If you are purchasing this battery as a replacement for an older version of the same, be aware that the terminal positions have been switched. My 5 -1/2 year old battery I am replacing (ordering the exact same part number) has the terminal locations switched. So the cables will no longer work in my truck! For some strange reason, Odyssey has changed the battery design.Otherwise, once you understand the special charging requirements for this AGM battery, I am very pleased with its performance.

Battery was not shipped in factory packaging. It was shipped in a normal cardboard box with a expansion foam bottom and paper packed on top. Package appears to have been dropped on its top at some point, damaging the battery corner and posts. Damage is significant enough to cause safety concerns with use. Amazon does not allow returns for car batteries, but the seller (batterysharks) responded to a message and processed a refund within a few days.I have used these batteries before, and they work great as long as you charge them at their optimum voltage range (around 14.2-14.4V). If you use them in an automotive setting you may need a voltage regulator to increase your alternator voltage output. It is typically a simple device that replaces a fuse in your engine fuse box.

Built like a tank, and weighs as much as well. Considering the price of this battery which is not cheap, the eventual service this battery will give will provide greater savings in the long run. It’s in my rig used for overlanding, and I wanted something that will not give up on me.
