I ordered this fuel pump on 6-15-15 and it was delivered as promised by 6-17…thank you, Amazon! My Dad and I installed it on my 1967 Ford Mustang Fastback (it has a 390FE with Edelbrock aluminum heads, matching intake and a Holley 850HP carburetor with a regulator set at 6psi) on Thursday night. I had an existing cheaper off-brand electric fuel pump that was very noisy and claimed to flow more GPH. Driving down the road, it just felt like the pump was working too hard to supply the engine, was getting very hot and was ‘surging’ almost like it was about to fail. The new Holley is wonderful and is much quieter! With the old pump, after turning on the ignition, it seemed to take about 5-10 seconds to prime and then start the car. With the Holley, it’s instant pressure and faster starts. I made a wise investment.

I have been using this model of Holley fuel pump in my ’59 Willys for about 20 years. This is my 3rd one so I guess they are averaging 10 years between failures. Not too bad. I would have given it 5 stars except that it’s fairly loud. It needs to be rubber mounted unless you want to hear some very loud noise feeding through the frame of your vehicle. The rubber pad that is shipped with the pump does nothing to stop the noise. I used the mounting that came with an earlier version of the pump. It was about 1/2″ thick. I used nylon stop nuts with large washers and didn’t tighten them such that they compressed the rubber much. Even with that mounting I can hear the pump over the sound of the small block I have in the truck. The vendor I used was JEGS. When trying to use the Prime offering for this pump I got an error saying the address was no good. I guess it’s CA regs that stops it. My vehicle is off road and smog exempt but Amazon has no way to know that. Anyway, JEGS worked just fine. The price was the same as offered everywhere on the ‘net, shipping was free, and that damned 10% CA tax was not collected. It was shipped the day following the order and showed up on my doorstep on the 5th day after that. No complaints there. Packing was excellent. I recommend this vendor.

I used this on a friend’s old 180 sl Mercedes. Unfortunately there isn’t a place down by the tank to mount it without crazy modifications, or lots of fab time. He had the same pump before mounted up on the fender that lasted about 10 years he said. When I replaced it I ended up moving it down into the engine compartment a little just because this is supposed to be a pusher pump, not a puller pump. Working good so far. I even put a good fuel filter before the pump, so it must make a decent amount of suction. Will definitely us jegs again. Package showed up early, and they give you a whole sheet of stickers. Will definitely use them again.

I bought this to increase fuel pressure on my 6.2L diesel as the factory mechanical pump was not supplying the necessary volume to maintain pressure. Installing this pump increased power in that the engine was no longer starving for fuel at high RPMs. The pump is noisy as other reviews state, but once the loud engine is running noise from the pump is of no significance. I have the pump wired through a fused relay to an ignition-on circuit. With 200 miles driven after install I have had no issues and am very happy with the pump so far.Update- I now have 2,000 miles on this pump without any issues.

Worked for about 15 minutes and lost pressure. Bought in January 21 and got it installed in March. Can’t return it to Amazon because the return window was over in Feb 21. So I have a $132 fuel pump that is worthless.

I’ve used these holley pumps several times. They do work. They are stupid loud (as in you can hear them over a big block with open headers, slightly. But you can) and run all the time. Just part of the design.

It works great

The outlet threads were not tapped correctly. A 3/8 NPT would only go in a few turns, enough to cause leak with thread tape/liquid ptfe. Expect to have to tap one or both ends of this fuel pump to actually fit a 3/8 NPT. Must be a defect with Holley manufacturing. These should be ready to go bolt ons… Also this unit came with fuel in it. Not sure if it was used or just tested at factory. Other than that it works great.
