When ordering this product please take in consideration most companies rebrand, rebadge, and relabel other companies products as their own. They do this when both companies make a contract agreement to do so. They contract the production of products to other companies to meet demand and save overhead costs. All auto parts stores do the very same. So ignore the the reviews complaining about this not being an Exedy product. Exedy rebranded a Equal Under Pressure product that’s distributed by Daikin Clutch. That Exedy then distributes to companies like Amazon. I took a photo to show this is and actual “Exedy” branded product. As for the product itself it’s fantastic. I bought this Master cylinder to for my 1984 Nissan 300ZX. and it fits perfectly. Another thing that need to be taken in consideration is this product may fit more than just the 1984-1989 Nissan 300zx. Most automakers design cars to use preexisting parts. That saves resources that would’ve exhausted to research and develop another solution. With that being said this master cylinder may have multiple applications. Hope this helps you on your decision.

Great material. Bigger reservoir and stiffer pedal. Good buy

I used this master cylinder for an auto to manual swap in my s13. After I drilled the holes in the firewall, this bolted right up to the clutch pedal with no issues. Inexpensive, good quality and easy to install. No leaks and it is working great! I used a steel braided brake line with it by the way.

My clutch master on my ’91 240sx went out, so I picked up this unit and the complimentary slave cylinder. This unit dropped right into place, and has been serving me well in daily driving for several months now. It does squeak on the first few presses on really cold/damp days, but my old unit also did that so I can’t really complain too much. Most criticisms of this part come from people (correctly) noting that this is not actually an EXEDY product. It appears to be an unknown brand that Exedy markets as one of its own, so the description is somewhat misleading. While there isn’t really a good excuse for this, I don’t place that much stock in brand names. These days, rebranding of cheap items by well-known brands is common. At least this is honest about it’s origins on the actual box. Also, sites that specialize in performance parts for 240’s sell this exact master cylinder as an alternative to OEM. I have yet to see a bad review for one on those sorts of sites, and as far as I can tell it’s holding up just fine. So: if this fits your car, buy it. Cheap, and it seems to perform just fine. Yes, it is not a genuine branded Exedy product, but I honestly don’t see the value in whose sticker is on the box. The price drop from OEM part is huge, and I have confidence that this will last a long time. Take that for what its worth.

You get what you pay for. If you are going to sell your 240, then go right ahead and get it. However, if you plan on keeping it, I highly suggest an OEM clutch master cylinder. It costs almost $100 New, but worth it. With the OEM one, the pedal feel is much smoother and softer, even with a stage 2 clutch, than with this Exedy one. I couldn’t believe how much easier the car is to drive.I put up some pics that show the differences between the Exedy (gold colored rod) and the NABCO (silver colored rod).

Installed the master cylinder on my 1987 Maxima with no issue.
