   I needed to replace my muffler on my 1998 Dodge Ram 1500 because the stock catalytic converter was clogged. I installed a high flow Magnaflow catalytic converter which is much louder than stock, so I assumed this muffler might have a little bit of a rumble to it based on other reviews. Don’t believe it; it is quieter now than with the stock system. The fit of the muffler however is perfect. So if you are looking for a stock replacement at a good price with a quiet sound, this is a good choice. I installed it without needing to jack up the truck in about 25 minutes, you will need to purchase (2) 2 1/2″ muffler clamps unless you can re-use your old ones.I just wish somebody would make a muffler that was a direct replacement but with a bit of a rumble to it.Oh, and don’t forget a new muffler will often blow smoke out of the pipes for a day or two until all the oils burn off and the moisture in the packing is turned to steam. This is normal and no cause for concern.

   1998 Dodge Ram 1500, 5.8 ; Amazon said it would not fit,. This actually fit perfectly and direct. Like others, I had to cut off the old due to rust.. time saver, . Also I use a little oil to slip the pipes on..Attached at images from the job.. happy with the muffler. It saved money and passed emissions and safety.Thanks

   This was an easy install as described. It is a great OEM replacement if that is what your are going for as i was. It is really quiet. First time i started up my truck I didn’t think it started. Overall great replacement for the cost. I put this muffler on a 1999 Dodge Ram with a 5.9 gas engine and I’m glad i did.I would recommend this product.

   Cut the old muffler clamps off, removed the old rotted stock muffler, this one slipped right on and installed perfectly.This one is SUPER quiet. Couldn’t tell the truck was running when I first started it after installation. Been on a few months, still nice and quiet.If you’re wanting a OEM fitment quiet muffler, this is it.

   Wow PERFECT fit to replace the factory muffler on my 01 ram 1500 v6 , body is a couple inches shorter but extra pipe sticking out makes up for it. Also nice and quiet just how I wanted it
