This is a near direct-fit for 2002-2006 Mini Cooper S JCW airbox which comes with a paper element filter that is considered to be restrictive and expensive to boot(even an aftermarket version such as the Mahle LX1628 filter is $60+).I say near direct-fit because you have to use the band clamp instead of having the filter snap into place. For the price, you can buy 2 RU-3130 filters and rotate the 2nd one while you are cleaning the first one.An optional step is to unplug the wiring harness for the vacuum-operated flap that opens at 4500 rpm and keep the flap propped open at all times.

This product is great and constructed well. It has saved me from having to clean my filter quite as often. It preforms well at repelling water too. The one problem I have is that it is small for my filter. it can strech to just barely cover the oil covered filter but doesnt fit as is seen in the picture. My filter is an older one and I believe that the new filters are a little shorter and would fit it well.

I had a cold air intake I bought for my car years ago (2016 EB Mustang). I recently decided to put the intake back on but could not find the cone filter it came with.. I knew it was non branded K&N filter, I came on amazon and just looked up K&N filters with roughly 3.5” inch inlet, turns out this is the exact one that came with my cold air originally.. perfect fit in size and length and same color/design.So if you have an Ecoboost Mustang with an MMR Big Tube Cold Air (discontinued.. Lol) this filter is for you!

I use this filter on my 07 WRX with a APS cold air intake because it is one of the only filters that is narrow enough to fit in the fender well. Was easy to install and has lasted a while. I will continue to use this filter.
