My truck never had great brakes. Especially when towing my 5th wheel trailer. I do have 33″ tall tires and that contributed greatly to the loss of braking, so no fault of GM. At 120,000 miles my mechanic twice told me I need to replace the brakes but not because of wear but due the rusted vents. In Colorado mag chloride is used in winter and it eats steel like nothing I’ve ever experienced, so I took the opportunity to upgrade the brakes. Power Stop makes some powerful claims, as does other aftermarket companies. I always research the heck out of anything before I buy something especially something as critical as automotive brakes. Even though my 10,000 pound trailer has brakes, they do not provided good braking. So my hope was to really see a difference and especially when towing. This was a matter of making my truck much safer for my family during our travels. I’ve had too many close calls so this was important. After reading every review I could find, both for these brakes and other companies, I’m happy to say I’ve made a great choice in buying Power Stop brakes. OK, down to what you want to know. First you must follow the break-in instructions. They say don’t tow anything until you put a hundred miles on the brakes. I found they fully broke in at 200 given a lot of that was highway. Now I can honestly say the braking performance is OUTSTANDING!. I just completed a 1200 mile trip to the Black Hills in South Dakota with my 10,000 lb trailer in tow. I had plenty of opportunity to put these brakes to the test. I did have a couple near panic stops, only because my wife said “turn here!” just about 200 ft from a turn off at highway speeds. And going down a steep hill with all the weight behind me it would have been impossible before installing these brakes. They grab hard when you need them and without standing on the brake pedal. The braking is smooth, quiet and controlled. Nice straight-line braking. I felt in total control and more than confident with these hard stops. They feel like performance brakes. If you’ve owned a performance car you’ll know what I’m talking about. I know this is a lengthy review, but with so many choices and mostly short reviews it’s hard to choose one over the other. To make this clear… I experience better than the 20% increase over stock brakes Power Stop claims, more on line with 50% in my case. There is no dust, excellent regulated braking from light to hard stops and absolutely quiet. Everything I could hope for and more. I was surprised at how great these perform and they cost less than the other guys. Thank you Power Stop.

I refuse to ding a sellers rating due to issues caused by the carrier…and in general, I hate reading reviews that only say ‘fast shipping!’…in this case that has nothing to do with if this product is going to stop my truck better than my stock setup. That being said, my first set did arrive UPS ground…and by ground, i mean it looked like they drug them behind their truck on the ground. Boxes were destroyed…i literally didn’t have to open them, they were already opened from damage…weird thing though the box that was in the worst condition contained two of the rotors, the better of the two boxes was missing a rotor before it went to rewrap at ups to received several yards of packing tape. Granted, these rotors weigh 26 lbs each, so at 52 lbs per box…its going to be hard to contain the items without a wood frame or something simular. Nothing was damaged and the pads were in their own box and were well protected. This is where I give 21 motorsports 5 stars; once I contacted them Justin responded in a short time and through much back and forth he always responded promptly and once i determined it was the driver rear rotor i was missing he just shipped me an entire additional rear set, two rotors and another set of pads. Great job justin. Now for the product review; 5 stars! After completing the break in procedure, I can easily tell there is a big improvement in breaking. It takes less pedal pressure to stop the truck now than before (and i thought my old pads were nearing their end of life but all 4 corners had half the pad thickness left, so it’s not like I’m comparing new brakes to worn out brakes. I never liked how my trucks brakes felt and in an emergency stop you really had to stand on them…not any more. I probably won’t haul real heavy for a few months when i start hauling round bales at 11-13k lbs but i will be hauling my 7k lb 21×8 enclosed toy hauler in the next couple of weeks and will report back. After much shopping online, nobody could touch their price.I have at 1500 z71 and a ford expedition also, when they’re due for a brake job I’m buying again from 21 motorsports and both will be getting complete Power Stop brake kits.

The rotors and brake pads themselves like decent quality. Only issue I ran into was both rear rotors were damaged on the inside where the emergency brake pads contact the rotors and pretty big chunks missing. Now I would blame Amazon and their working for mishandling the packages especially considering the box weighed probably 100lbs for all 4 rotors and pads for my truck but I feel like they should’ve came packaged better from power stop brakes themselves. They were a perfect fit on my gmc 2500. Other than being damaged when they arrived they seem to perform well maybe just a bit better than new oem. I haven’t towed with them yet so will update on how they do and how much life I get out of them.

Good kit overall for the price but really upset that tore into the project and come to find out was missing the caliper boots for the rear. Had to reuse the old ones. Also the clips for rear were bent and had punctured the grease inside box so I had grease all over brake pads and bent clips and missing boots. Other than that good kit. BTW: spending this much money deserves a powerstop sticker to advertise your brakes. Oh well.

Fit perfectly and works great.

My original brake pads lasted 125000 miles. They were getting spongy essentially after I added larger tires. These stop my truck very quickly

Upgraded to these on my built duramax. Added some confidence back to the big truck.

I’ve had them installed on my truck for about four months now and it definitely stops better, but I can already see that the rotors will need to be replaced sooner than later
