The Mazda RX-8 is well known for its high-revving rotary engine and well-balanced chassis. An overheating engine can result in a ruined track day or a damaged engine. A Mishimoto racing thermostat is the ideal upgrade for improved cooling reliability and efficiency. Mishimoto racing thermostats promote greater cooling efficiency by significantly decreasing high engine temperatures. Once the engine is fully warmed up, the Mishimoto low-temperature racing thermostat will open at a lower temperature (169 degree Fahrenheit) compared to standard thermostats (180 degree Fahrenheit). This allows coolant to flow through the engine sooner, thus reducing and maintaining cooler engine temperatures. This thermostat includes the Mishimoto lifetime warranty.
- Fits the 2004-2010 Mazda RX8
- Lower activation temp allows coolant to flow through the engine earlier
- Maintains lower temperatures and extends engine life
- Mishimoto Activation: 169F (76C) / OEM Activation: 180F (82C)
- Mishimoto Lifetime Warranty

Works great, before by RX8 would heat up to 234 degrees now under a load it doesn’t go over 190. I even tried the RX8Performance.com external ECT kit that takes over the relays for the cooling fans and that did not work. I highly recommend this for all RX8 owners.

Perfect product for the Rx8. The car runs hot from factory. This product will keep the car cooler. In addition if you can tune the ecu you can set the radiator fan to a lower setting thus improving engine coolant temp. I recommend this for all rx8 owners. Simple to install.

Although I had hoped for a little better performance with cooling for my Rx8 as a daily driver, this thermostat does provide piece of mind with it’s obviously well constructed product. I noticed that the last one I had used, a Stant branded thermostat looked anemic in it’s girth and performance prior to changing it out with Mishimoto. I have already installed an all aluminum Mishimoto radiator with a Gates water pump that I can now rest comfortably driving my 15 year old car in the Arizona heat.

great product pretty much saved my engine. After installing underdrive pulley set my car was overheating fast I could barely drive anywhere but after install this thermostat my water temp dropped by at least 15 degrees it was worth it.

I used to trust Mishimoto. But i think this time i may have cost me my engine. After installing it, along with other parts, i had cooling issues. I removed it and ran no thermostat and the car struggles to stay up to temp. Then i decided to test it along side the stock one. Stock cracked at 86c (spec: 82c) Mishimoto never opened even when i left it boiling at 95c (spec: 76c).Go to your local autoparts store, a good employee will help you find a lower temp in the right size and of oem quality. Ill post the part number i come up with.
