Mr. Gasket High Performance Thermostats are designed to resist large variations of coolant pressure at high RPM (revolutions per minute). This allows them to fully open at correct temperature consistently regardless of engine RPM. The design also provides the high flow that engines operated a higher RPM need. This thermostat also features a copper/brass construction to further resist corrosion. Mr. Gasket High Performance / High Flow Thermostats are suitable for street, drag race, or oval track applications.

I bought this thermostat to replace the stock one in my 1995 Jeep Cherokee Sport with the inline 6 cylinder engine. One of the biggest problems with these type of engines is that they always generate a lot of heat under the hood. This leads to numerous problems, like warping heads, melting gaskets, etc… This part, since I am adding various performance replacement parts and add ons to the engine as a ORV project, needed something that would help keep this from over heating. This thermostat fit the bill and solved all the over heating problems I initially had. It is a well built thermostat, and was one of the best things i have added to the Jeep so far. Not to mention with the lowered temperature, more available power was unleashed from the engine, and also improved the relatively low fuel mileage. Defiantly recommend this part for anybody that wants to take care of the issues wiht the stock thermostat, or is doing at home performance add ons.

This is the best t-stat I’ve ever used. I drive British cars , Mini, Sunbeam, etc. in the hot weather. This product reduces temperatures by way of the shield that helps circulate water throughout the head. Other products let the water go back to the radiator too fast. My Canadian friends complain that it works too well and the engine never gets up to temp. They don’t have 100F to deal with, so that’s understandable.

This thermostat looks different than the advertised picture and is no longer made from copper and brass. Has the brand name MotoRad stamped on the side. Contacted Mr Gasket and asked “What happened to the copper and brass construction? Got this with thermostat in Mr. Gasket packaging but it says MotoRad on the thermostat. Is this really a high performance unit?” This was their response: “Those units have the same great performance it is a new design of the thermostats. They still deliver the results as the last design gave. They contributed to the new design and stamped the production company name on them.”You can get this same MotoRad thermostat at RockAuto for less than $5.00.

Flows well. Fixed my overheating 302. Lots of rodders use it. Car runs about 5 degrees over the rating. This is a high compression, pro built engine and this thermostat helps

This is a nice unit. Appears very well made. However, I’m fairly certain that I ordered a 180 degree unit but received a 160 instead.
