The fastest, easiest way to know exactly when it’s safe to open your radiator cap. ThermoCap, with its built-in calibrated thermometer, indicates the coolant temperature.
- Indicates coolant temperature
- Helps prevent coolant injuries
- Fahrenheit and centigrade readings
- Color-coded temperature ranges
- Integrated coolant reclamation valve
- Fit type: Vehicle Specific

I was having concerns because my temperature guage was reading very cold at times and very hot at other times. I discovered that my thermostat was stuck in the open position using the Mr Gasket thermometer radiator cap and that my temperature guage was working normally. After replacing my thermostat, my Mr. Gasket thermocap read 180 degrees exactly; which is where the new thermostat is supposed to operate at and 180 degrees is the recommended operating temperature for my vehicle. The Mr. Gasket thermo-cap is a good diagnostic tool.I found it difficult to get the Mr. Gasket radiator cap on. I thought at first maybe I received an incorrect part. I had to use significant pressure and twisting force to get the radiator cap on. It would be exceedingly difficult for my Mom, girlfriend or some one not as strong as me to get the radiator cap on and twisted close. “This” is why I didn’t give a 5 star rating. I would give a 4 1/2 star rating or an A, almost an A+.I like the colors offered and chose red for myself. The radiator cap “dresses” up the appearance of the engine compartment.

The needle that measures the temperature sticks out a little too far. I had to shave mine down in order for it to fit into the radiator properly. It does tell the coolant temp, but if it sticks down to far you must be careful not to cut too much of the needle off or the hollow inside will be exposed and then the cap will leak. It will not be useful then.

Radiator cap is working great and blends in great with my valve cover and air cleaner color.

Great product. My old rad cap wasn’t fitting right after I replaced my rad in my truck. So I got this one. It’s within 10°f of my temp gauge which is to be expected sense the temp gauge is on the engine and this is on the rad. It helps me keep an eye on my rad temps when it’s 90plus out and I’m running my ac. Reason being is my truck never had ac and I added it which mean it can over heat sense the cooling system wasn’t build for ac. Just a Handy little thing to have incase you need it. Getting several more for my other vehicles.

What a piece of junk. Car hasn’t been run in a week, the air temperature in the garage is 45 deg. and the gauge reads 160 deg. Don’t waste your money!

Been using it for about a week. I’m suspecting if my Autometer dash temp gauge is in error. I also have a Summit Racing direct reading gauge on the top tank of my radiator inches from the ThermoCap. The Mr. Gasket and Summit direct reading gauge have been reading the same and are showing on the average 15 degrees cooler than my Autometer gauge. So with 3 temp gauges, I have a “Minority Report” to determine engine temp. I haven’t experienced the ThermoCap fogging up as of yet like others have said. It is a little tight on the fit to put on, but no biggie to me, I just put a rag over it and pushed down and twist on. If all goes correct, I shouldn’t have to take it off for a long time anyway. Sofar I would recommend buying.
