This was for a 64 corvette 327/300 CSB. Original tube broke at engine block ( got an easy removal trick if you wanna know) and this was its replacement. The tube is shorter than original by about 4″ but was same length at engine block connection. Make sure you re measure the oil level lines from old stick to new stick from the engine block flush mount point. This was about 1/2″ shallow and thus would cause false “low” reading. I remarked, scored a small line, in new stick to match original oil level reading. All said and done, this is a nice tight fit and looks fairly well put together. I would reorder again if another project requires same modification/install

I installed this in my SBC. To do so I had to sand off about 1/16″ to get it to seat all the way down to the bubble. Me having to sand may be due to the block I used for my build. The engine originally had an oil pan mounted dip stick which I got rid of with an aftermarket oil pan. So.. the guide tube, in the dipstick hole, in the block, was never pressed all the way in. The guide tube started out slightly less than flush with the top of the dip stick hole in the block. I had to force it down into its proper position with a punch and a hammer. After sanding off the 1/16″ I added a chamfer, at the bottom, to make it easier to press/pound it into the block. It fit nice and tight so make sure it’s aligned/pointing in the correct direction before you pound it in. Also make sure you have a piece of aluminum to use between the tube and hammer to soften the blow otherwise you’ll dent the top of the tube. I really like how tight it fit. Some people complained that it was manufactured too big and they had to sand the diameter, but It’s made that way on purpose so you have to press/pound it in.

It was cheap and I couldn’t find it here in Hawaii. This is for my 1968 Chevy Nova 327 small block took me about 10 minutes to press in the tubing.Looks classy because its Crome.

It looks great thanks

Fit perfect. No issues.

The tube is slightly larger and will need to be sanded or filed to insert into the block. The markings for full are off with the full line below the full level and the LL in full being the correct full level. minor problems.
