Fixed my 3G alternator charging issues. Well worth every cent spent on this. I would suggest soldering the connections and not crimping. Came out very nice. Came with nice instructions and I got rid of all the old wire harness for the original crap alternator.

Fantastic kit, has everything you need. I used this kit on my 1987 Mercury Colony Park. The only problem was the large red charging cable. This kit is not designed for the wagon so this cable wasn’t long enough to route the cable where I wanted to put it. No big deal, I used it anyways for now because I really wanted to get this working. Totally worth it, the PDF on the manufacturers website was extremely helpful for installing this.

I used this alternator upgrade kit to upgrade wiring on my Foxbody Mustang as it was cheaper than what is offered at other Late Model Pony sites, and cheaper/easier than buying all the wiring, connectors, fuse, etc. separately. Overall this kit worked for my upgrade, but note there are somethings to note when using on the Foxbody. The instructions included are not model specific so follow the instructions posted all over the interwebs on how to wire for the Foxbody. The connectors to the alternator are preconnected, and they give you “a lot” of extra wire for these connectors that you will not need. The stator connector is already connected correctly. Comes with 150 amp fuse. The main power wire is 6 gauge and not long enough to reach your battery (or solenoid) you you will need about another 2 feet of 6 gauge wire. I used a cheap battery cable and cut it to size. Overall it was a nice clean install and other than the 6 gauge wire being a little short based on the way I ran it I’d recommend this upgrade kit.

I did the 3g alternator upgrade and this kit paved the way. The quality is above reproach. You will need good crimpers and a heat gun. If you are considering this upgrade to your alternator, get this kit!

As a DIY’er it was painful to pay so much for this kit, I figured I could replicate it for half the cost. But that’s where experience stepped in an reminded me of all the time, effort, and likely delays that would make the project overwhelming and inefficient. So I decided to shell out the money and it turned out to be a great decision. The kit had everything I needed and enough extra so that I could make a few mistakes along the way. The alternator was installed and works flawlessly. Buying this kit was a good decision and if you are considering it I would recommend you go for it.My old Ford has new power for the next generation. It was a satisfying project. Enjoy.
