I have a 2005 Toyota Camry with 100k miles on it. Recently, it started shaking when I apply the brakes at high speeds. When I brake at low speed, it would pull the car to one side. I checked my brake pads, and they were fine. So I did a Google search and came up with the rotors needing to be changed. I did some research online and decided to buy these brake kits because they are well priced and are rated well by customers on other sites I visited. They arrived together in a fairly heavy package. The mechanic quoted me $300 for changing the front rotors. I consulted a friend who has done the job before, and he agreed to help. So I changed the rotors out myself under his supervision. That saved me a couple hundred dollars. I watched a youtube clip on how to do it too. It was honestly way simpler than I thought it would be.(NOTE: If you’re not interested in installation information, skip to the next paragraph.) The part that took the longest was getting the car on jack stands and removing the two front tires. After that, it was just a matter of removing the calipers, brake pads, then rotors in that order. Keeping the caliper supported while changing the rotor was one of the difficulties, and it’s really not that difficult if you’re prepared (have a little bungee cord or bike lock handy). Make sure you also buy or rent a caliper compressor before you start the job. Changing the 2 front rotors took me less than 2 hours total. There are a lot of guides online on how to do it. I didn’t need to bleed the brake fluid for my car, which is one of the common steps mentioned in the guides online. You may not need to either if the brake fluid line stays attached to the caliper when you remove it. With the new rotor on, I put the brake pads back on. I then compressed the piston on the caliper and put that back on top of the brake pads. I lowered the car, gave the brake pedal a couple of pumps, and I was ready for a test drive. With the new rotors installed, I took the car out for a spin. No more shaking or pulling to one side, and it stops noticeably quicker than it used to. No more sounds either. I’m very happy with this product. It was fairly easy to install, well priced, and works great. I also didn’t need to use the brake pads that came with it since mine were still fine. I’m saving them for when I need them.Go ahead and buy this with confidence if the price is right for you!

This kit came with two (2) brand-new, perfectly balanced, perfectly machined brake rotors, four (4) beautiful new ceramic brake pads which were completely sealed, tamper-proof in strong plastic, inside a handsome box with a packet of high-temperature brake lubricant, new stainless clips, and an easy to understand installation manual. Everything in this kit screams HIGH-QUALITY! Incredibly, I paid just $49.00 for this complete package, including free shipping! Quite seriously, I would have gladly paid $149.00 for this set. . . It’s THAT good. No kidding. My car stops on a dime, smooth braking with no squealing, and NO rotor vibration whatsoever. A couple things are important for weekend warriors working on their own cars to realize however: Because we think we know what we’re doing, MOST OF US DON’T READ THE DIRECTIONS, AND THAT’S A MISTAKE. Be smart, and carefully read & follow all of the directions included in the installation manual that’s included in this kit. These rotors come with a coating of machine oil on them to protect them from rust and corrosion until your install. 1.) You should wash your greasy hands and then carefully hand-wash each of the rotors two times (that’s TWICE each) in hot water in the sink with regular liquid dish soap, squeaky-clean, and then dry them with a paper towel before installing them on your car. DO NOT USE BRAKE CLEANER ON THEM, and be very careful NOT TO GET ANY BRAKE LUBRICANT on the rotors either. 2.) Do liberally use brake cleaner and a brush to clean up the caliper brackets before you install the stainless clips and the brake pads on them, but do NOT spray or allow brake cleaner to drip on the part of the caliper brackets where the slide pins are, because you will get liquid solvent inside the channel where the slide pins actually slide, and dissolve the grease which they need to operate. Also, do NOT spray brake cleaner on the actual caliper or it’s piston for the same reason. 3.) Remove each slide pin and wipe off the blackened grease with a DRY paper towel (no brake cleaner), apply a thin coat of fresh brake lubricant to each slide pin before sliding them back in their holes in the caliper brackets, and then check that they move well and don’t bind. 4.) Apply a thin coat of brake lubricant on the ends of the metal brake pad backing plates where they rub against the stainless clips, and on the entire middle of the metal backing plate flat surface where the caliper applies it’s pressure to them. Do NOT get any lubricant on the brake pads themselves, but ONLY on their attached metal backing plates. Be careful about this, and wipe your hands well & often with fresh paper towels as you go along. 5.) After you finish installing all the parts, you absolutely must precisely FOLLOW THE BREAK-IN PROCEDURE which is spelled out in the Power Stop installation manual and on it’s website BEFORE trying to drive the car normally. If you do your part and take my advice above, you will have no problems, and you will enjoy the fruits of your efforts without any nonsense or complications. This is a GREAT set of high-quality rotors & pads for a STEAL of a price. . . Enjoy!
