This alternator replaced a junk (and I very much mean junk) alternator from LActrical. For my Jeep so I can power the radiator fan, headlights, heater fan, windshield wipers, stereo, etc.The alternator came with a test card showing the amperage output, and voltage output at different rpm ranges. As per typical with a covered fan it makes a little noise, but very tolerable. There is a little electrical whine, easily fixed with proper grounding circuit. From idle to highway speed this alternator performs perfectly. Where the LActrical alternator barely performed better than the stock 35 amp (and got so hot to the touch it would burn your fingers), this alternator stays cool even under full load.I highly recommend using the “3 wire” set up with the load sensing and field power wires attached.

I don’t usually write reviews but had to here:I installed the powermaster to replace the OEM AC Delco alternator on my 1984 6.2 Diesel GMC Suburban.I have a total of 4 batteries on that truck: 2 are standard to get the engine going, and I installed 2 additional auxiliary (I take the sub to the outdoors in the middle of nowhere).1. This thing is cranking – it’s a visible improvement vs. OEM.2. The powermaster customer service is out of this world. I actually botched the installation the first time: I had to “time” the alternator to fit my rig, and damaged it in the process. Emailed CS, and they said “no problem, just send it back – we’ll fix and time it for you”Worth every penny, and probably much more.

Alternator charges great and was clocked correctly out of the box for an 86 Chevy caprice. The pulley installed out of the box was a V belt pulley as shown in the picture. An 86 Caprice Classic Brougham 307ci engine has a serpentine belt for the alternator. The pulley from the original alternator fit on the new alternator and the belt grooves aligned correctly. The main electrical output stud is larger than the stock stud and required an adapter to prevent cutting the factory harness or drilling the OEM lug.Good alternator but not exactly a direct replacement. I would buy it again despite the small fitment issues.

Add it after I was getting bad feed back on the Sniper hand held flashing on voltage. Upgraded wiring with this alternator and the flashing stopped. It was put on a SBC easily and no fabrication needed. Re clocking was easy. A must upgrade on the classic cars adding EFI, fans etc.

Item works but I was hoping for the 14 volts at idle so many claimed. Works just as well as the one I replaced………. 12 volts at idle and 13 while driving. Not what I wanted but works fine for normal applications

I put this alternator on my blazer, due to it needing more power to run all of the electrical, stereo system, winch, power locks and windows, on board air compressor, light bar and spot lights so far it works great
