So far so good. Changed the oil on Sunday and removed the Purolator filter that I was using and put this one in. The inner opening fit snug on the tube in the oil filter housing and was a perfect fit length-wise. I did not get instructions or the ring in a sealed bag but the filter and gasket ring were new and appeared to be factory sealed in the box and not tampered with.Price was about the same as a Fram or Purlolator filter at the local parts store (perhaps even a little cheaper than one of the major chains) but this seems to be a better filter for the $$$. We’ll see what it looks like in 5000 miles when I change the filter. The Purolator and Fram filters tend to bow under the pressures of the higher engine load from heavy acceleration needed to keep my Corolla from getting creamed on the highways (better than failing) so am interested in seeing how this holds up under some miles under it. Mine was made in Korea.

I service all the vehicles in our household and have been doing oil changes for years. As of recently K&N has been offering a really good value proposition. They have great filtration that’s proven time and time with testing that it holds up at least as well as most OEM filters. What is really hard to beat now is that they’re pricing the filters at half or less of what an OEM filter costs, but you’re still getting a very high quality filter media. It’s impossible to ignore.I am very pleased with the fitment, the gasket and the simple packaging. The filter holds together over long drain intervals as well. I will continue to purchase these for our 3rd generation Prius for as long as I am able to get them for significantly less than the OEM filter.

The difference is night and day, I will never use stock filters again. I replaced the oil cap too because why not, it’s piece of mind. It fit snug over the center flue, much more snug than the okd one, I’m going to say that’s a good thing. Thanks K&N for a great filter.

This is a legit K&N filter…not a fake. I’ve been using these for years now will continue. I only use Amazon or Costco full synthetic oil with this filter and change around 7500-10,000 miles. The oil still looks almost new at that interval. Extremely satisfied with the performance of this oil filter.Amazon’s vehicle compatibility says it does not fit the Corolla 2009 S 1.8L, but it does.

K&N have been around for years. They make good filters. I remember always using their K&N intakes in my younger engine-modding years. Those days are gone but I still am rather fond of their products. I don’t mind at all that it’s not the cheapest option. Perhaps this is nostalgia speaking, but I like this brand. I use this on my 2012 Toyota Prius and I regret nothing. It comes with just the filter and an O-ring gasket. If doing this on your own, be sure to take the previous gasket off when you put the new one on. Oh, and also be sure to put some oil on the new gasket before you reinstall it.

Every Amsoil Syntetic Oil change I change the oil filters, cabin filter & motor filter…my cars are running like new.

Normally these filters are outstanding, but my issue is with the quality of the shipment.I purchased 2 of these filters. One of the filters was obviously old stock (see photo), and did not come with an O-ring. The second one came in a new box, but with a black O-ring, which may or may not be compatible with the cartridge in my car. All the previous ones I ever purchased came with a red O-ring.Disappointed in Amazon.
