I’ve now done 2 oil changes with these and the bottom nut is a game changer. Not only do I trust K&N’s brand name but it’s really ease to change oil with these on my F-150. It’s held up well on all occasions. Just too expensive.

My engine doesn’t hold the same oil pressures as the Wix Xp. After the engine warms up to operating temperature, the pressure is lower than the XP. The XP holds good pressures all the time.

First off, this filter does an excellent job at doing it’s job, filtering oil. It has all the features of the latest oil filter designs, and they even toss in the stamped steel nut thing welded on the end. No, you should not use it to tighten the filter on as they should be hand tight, and you shouldn’t need a wrench to pull it. However, like anyone, I probably hand tighten oil filters a little too much out of fear they might leak. Then when it’s time to change it, it’s been heat cycled a thousand times so it gets a little stuck, and my hands are usually covered in oil residue so gripping it can be difficult. Having the added nut on the end makes the biggest hassle of changing oil a non-issue. The price is right there with the rest, and it’s made in the USA, so these have been my go to for some time now. Never had an issue with rusting or got the impression it was some kind of refurbished piece. Just buy the thing, you won’t be disappointed.

It even filtered my muffler noise and I think my radio is quieter. Also, I’m done with the air filter, it works so well, it filters the air around the car.

The 1″ nut plate makes removal easier, just in case you overtightened a bit, but the real value is inside the can. I’ve been using K&N oil and air filters for as long as I can remember, and I’ve not had any leaks or failures. There are a few good comparison videos out there that look at the guts inside various grades of filters. The garbage used inside cheap filters is just not an option. IMO, K&N is the best that you can get without going to the true specialty filters. I change my oil (full synthetic) every 5000 miles. I don’t drive my GT hard. It is worth the extra couple of bucks to be sure I’m putting on a quality filter.

Fits well on my 2012 Mustang GT, the guys at the dealership were delighted to see the oil filter had a bolt head for easy install. Maybe a bit pricey, but well… you have to try new things from time to time

Great filter but they are getting pricey
