Comes with metric and standard bolts for older and newer GM 10 bolts, that was a nice touch. Mine was a 1972 rearend and the bolt holes had a recess portion that’s oversized and not threaded, so the bolts were too short.Would be nice to have a seal on the carrier cap preload bolts so you didn’t have to use silicone.

Received and was well packaged. Came with 20 bolts with two different sizes. Some shorter, some longer. I needed the longer ones for my GM 8.5”. Looks great though. There are some additional steps to ensure it sits on differential properly and not warping your bearings. So take the extra few minutes you do it right. Directions might have been best with pics vs. bullet points, but wasn’t difficult to do. I wish it was better shaped to match the differential housing in total. I just painted exposed surface.

dropped the rating to 4 star ONLY for the lacking of one point on directions & hoping this note will save someone from making the same mistake, encourage others to buy the product, and hopefully get the seller to add a note to their instructions. The addition of a Fill plug leads one to (incorrectly) assume that like the factory instructions you simply keep adding fluid until it starts to come out the fill plug, in most cases of GM 8.5″ 10 bolt rear ends thats about 2.5 to 3 quarts.when i reached 5 quarts and still not filled, a close comparison to the fill plug height of the rear end (3/8″ drive socket to loosen) & the fill plug on the new cover are two different heights, the fill hole of the new cover being a couple inches higher thus the greater amount of fluid it takes to run out.To correct, I simply took out the factory fill plug (located on front of differential housing “pumpkin” on the passenger/front side until it stopped, sure enough a little over 2 quarts drained out before stopping.I used Valvoline 75w-90 full synthetic, so that’s 30.00 for two quarts, luckily it was very clean and with the help of some chees cloth I was able to save it for the next change. Also and in regards to the use of a gasket, the directions state it but could have worded it a bit better, something more direct like “do not use gasket, use a oil resistant gasket maker insteand and only”. I did not use a gasket & insteand used only the 15.00 per tube stuff from autozone as it will only be applied one time due to the ability to drain from the plug installed. (permatex, the right stuff, 90 minute gasket maker black, 25228) The guy at the auto zone used to work selling to mechanic shops & recomended letting it dry for 4 hours before adding fluid —- actually 5, one hour to hand tighten screws and let dry for an hour, and then 4 before adding fluid) I followed his advice and it was absolutly drip free.As for the negative reviews, I personaly found absolutly none to be valid except the bolts would not work (they were the right length but wrong thread, quickly corrected by a trip to ace hardware). The paint is tough and applied well, the casting was perfect with no flaws, and it looks way cool !Bottom line, if you can get over paying 125.00 for a cover, buy it.

I bought this strictly for the aesthetics, it’s a really nice looking and well built.

Worked on my Silverado 10 bolt. It’s a key upgrade to increase durability.

Overall seems like a beefy cover. Only issue is the lack of torque specs, fill plug is too high and the bolts provided are too short.

Very nice piece. So far only had it on for 2 months. A bit pricey for what you get. The fill hole is too high making you overfill the differential by quite a bit. To remedy this, take out the factory fill hole and when it starts to leak from it, stop filling.
