Needed a new high pressure line for the hydraulic pump on an 04 Mach 1, the old one was damaged and in the way. This was a more flexible solution since I needed to re-route the line around the turbo piping. Used Russell’s 90 degree fittings. The instructions were not good but Youtube came to the rescue. The instructions on Russell’s website were simply terrible, the picture resolution was almost unreadable. However, the product was superb. Once you have done installed one hose end, you will never forget how, it is really simple. This is the second attempt at doing this line, the first attempt I used a line that was only good for 500psi, my mistake. The brake pedal was very spongy, replaced with the Russell line that is rated for 2500psi and now the brake pedal feel is very firm. This is an excellent product. For a mustang, you will need adapters on the booster and on the pump, this converts the connection to an AN style fitting.Very pleased with the product.Tools needed/recommend.1. electrical tape (used to wrap the area of the hose that will be cut)2. AN Vise adapters to hold the fitting during assembly.3. Wrench to screw the nut on the fitting.4. Hack saw to cut the hose.5. Small screw driver to flare out the braided line.Simple hand tools and a great finished product. You can get by without the vise adapter but if you are doing multiple lines/hoses it is a great addition to the tool box.

I had a hard time installing hose ends on this hose. I was going to use this to replace a power steering hose on my truck but after several failed attempts to install the hose ends i end up just ordering a direct fit rubber hose replacement. Hose seems well made and i may have ordered the incorrect hose ends for this hose but it did not work for the application i was looking to use it for. May work well for others who have the experience and proper tools to install the hose ends but it did not work for me.

Hose was not -6, was -4. And was only 54″ long.I don’t see how a big company like Russell could make a mistake like this. Really ruined my weekend plans.See pic. An6 on the left, what they sent me An4 on the right.Bought from another vendor and it was actually -6. And less money also.

These did work so I can’t bash them too much but definitely not user friendly or needed better instructions. I watched some youtube videos and got most if it but the sheathing frays after cut and needs to be cut back a smidge to allow the bottom sleeve to reach the fitting to get the threads started. If you cut it back too much it feels like it will just come off so there is some trial and error trying to get it just right.Update: Now a year later and this is still working great, no leaks.

I have enough to fix it a few times
