The product is pretty much exactly as pictured. There is absolutely no finishing to the ends, and they did spread a little. You would lose ~1/2 from either end to clean it up if you wanted it perfect.I was disappointed that there were several snags along the length. It’s unlikely these happened in transit as it’s packaged in plastic. If you’re looking for a perfect hose cover, expect some blemishes. If you want to spend 8 hours tracing tiny wires, maybe you could pull it in like a snagged sweater. Good luck. That’s the reason for the three star rating. I wasn’t covering a hose though, I was using it as a mesh strainer for a home brew kettle. It worked well for that, so a few creases and snags here or there didn’t really bother me.It’s not a perfect product, but for the price… you’re probably not using this for a show car. I wouldn’t anyway. No problems with the supplier or packaging.

I have, 4 times in 3 months. One hose I got only one use out of before the little grey rats claimed another one.Well no more, I used the stainless braided hose cover to cover the propane grill hose (the high pressure variety, no regulator) and this hose cover will slide over the smaller end and the steel braid is apparently enough to keep the tree rats from destroying yet another one. Replacing the hoses at $20+ a pop is annoying enough, the thought of what would happen should that leaking propane ignite had me use this cover to protect the hose.As for what it is, it’s not perfect, the ends are a bit frayed, there is a pin through it in the package, doesn’t hurt it functionally, so I wouldn’t use this for a show car type application.

As others have stated the appearance of this product isn’t all that great but I didn’t care. I use it to protect a coolant line on my lathe from cuts and abrasions and it works well. One thing I noticed is the product does run short.

This may be more of a dress-up item than anything else. This sleeve doesn’t give me high confidence that it’ll reinforce the hose, but I’m not familiar with pre-built hoses. They may have the same loose fit. Even after best effort, this is a bit looseI’m not sure the instructions are complete. You’re instructed to wrap the end with electrical tape to prevent fraying when you cut it to length. It may be application specific, but in my case, there’s no way the Magna-Clamp hose end was going to allow enough expansion to reattach the heater hose to its fitting with that tape on there.Your mileage may vary, but using it on the hose sizes recommended, I got more length than they specify. Installation of the sleeve onto the hose is a piece of cake.

I used it on my mustang with great results. I am pleased with the thick quality braid.

I used this to squirrel proof my propane gas line on my BQ grill. They still tried to chew it without any luck. Now the little bast#rds need a squirrel dentist !

Ordered two rolls of the braided covering for heater hose. The first roll had some pulls and snags but I was able to find a decent section and hide the defects with the hose routing. The second roll was so bad it was unusable. Very poor product, will go back to the brands I know and trust for braided hose covering.
