I bought this to retrofit an old CJ3A jeep body that has a CJ3B engine in it. Problem was that the engine sits too high in the engine well to fit an air cleaner on the carburetor. So I built a carburetor intake plenum (about 7/8″ high) and mounted this air cleaner pointing down instead of up. Seems to work perfectly. I built the plenum out of sheet metal, but probably could have fabbed it out plastic. Anyhow, this is a review of the cleaner, not my problem and its installation flexibility is great. I spoke to K&N before picking this cleaner and they confirmed it would support the CFM requirements for the CJ3B engine. I know, my welding skills leave a lot to be desired.

I have always bought K&N filter for all my cars. This one however was purchased because of the size, it sat on my self until I was ready to install it on the motor I replaced in a project car. Once I was ready to use it, I pulled it from the amazon box and noticed how crunched up and ugly looking it was. I know it’s just a filter but it still needs to be a good looking visual piece to go with everything else. It really took a beating coming from K&N’s factory to whatever supplier and then through the mail to me. Wish I would have checked it out once I got it so I could have asked for a different one.

Did good for about 500 miles, now milage is going back down. Cleaned it, but it did nothing. Checked the throttle body and it was a bit dirty… Idk how. Seemed pretty sealed to me. It makes my engine purr better than my last filter.

This was a bit smaller than I expected (it’s my fault for not reading the description) but with that being said it ended up fitting perfectly with the intake pipe I had fabbed up without measuring ????. It also flows 28 psi of boost no problem.

K&N, great company that has been making great filters for common and custom applications. Will continue to purchase for all my filter needs.

Super strong air filter ,I love the color as well perfect fit to a T. I bought one because of the other reviews and I was not sure 100 % but I’m glad I picked this one and made the right choice . I need one more now so I ordered it , it also flows well best decision ever worth every penny.

I have a 2007 Kia Optima 2.4L and I wanted to get a cold air intake but nobody makes one for this specific year car. I plan on eventually buying silicone hoses and making my own. So I bought a K&N filter, took off the airbox, and clamped it on. The intake noise that you hear around town and especially WOT is amazing. The noise is not too loud but it is noticeable. I believe my mpg has increased by 1 but that is negligible. Pretty easy install for my car; just a few bolts and a clamp. I have had this for a few thousand miles and it’s still clean. The response of the gas pedal/throttle much quicker. I did measure a piece of cardboard and cut it out so that the MAF sensor doesn’t get any turbulence. The car idles and drives like normal. I would recommend for anyone who doesn’t want to spend $200+ for an intake system when you can get most of what you want from a $45-50 filter with shipping.
