Easy repair for a long time oil drip in my wifes 2005 xterra 4.0 v6 4×4. Plan on doing this when you do an oil change, drop the skid plate, remove the oil filter, use a deep well 22mm socket to unscrew the oil cooler and this will give you access to the gasket. I had a broken oil pressure relief valve behind the oil cooler which turned this into a headache of a project but is unrelated to this gasket replacement in most cases.

If you have the common oil cooler leak on your Nissan 4.0L V6 (Pathfinder, XTerra, or Frontier) then GET THIS ONE. The Fel Pro part listed here on Amazon does not fit; it is too small. This Mahle o-ring is a few dollars more and is the correct part for the VQ40DE engine.

I was in a bit of a time crunch and decided to order this single O ring instead of the 2 O ring kit, hoping it would be all I needed. Installation was surprisingly easy on my ’03 QX4 and it stopped the leak….now if would only stop the other unrelated oil leaks on this truck I’d be really happy.

Fit perfect on my 2011 nissan pathfinder 4×4 4.0l

Buy this! Local parts store tried to sell me a smaller one, but this is the correct size. Fit perfectly in 06 Xterra 4.0 4×4. Very easy fix with a 22 mm deep socket. Solved my oil leak of several years that I couldn’t figure out where it was coming from.

You can do this yourself the next time you change your oil yourself. Takes about one hour to remove a couple of shrouds, remove oil filter, loosen and move the oil cooler out of the way slightly, remove the o ring, replace the o ring and reinstall in reverse order. Save a lot by doing yourself. I saved over 300 bucks
